Straight Pipe

i have dual 3" on my 89 ranger with the 2.9L it has no cats and 2 flowmaster super 44s i have high flow cats i just need to put them on....its really loud, almost sounds like a V-8 .

does it affect how it will run, i had a dodge dakota before my ranger and it only had one cat i gutted it and followed it up with a flowmaster, it ran fine?

It's illegal. And sounds horrible imo.

And I'm pretty sure it will screw your emissions over.

yea my fault didnt mean too and i know it is illegal. been there done that got a t shirt and hat. i just had a question and wanted to see what others thought maybe somebody else has been there before me.

it'll throw a check engine light and make the truck sound like an ass-hat. there are no benifits from gutting the cats.

keep the cats they're good for the truck & humans

I bought my 89 2.9 with a 3 inch pipe and some type of flowmaster. I've been meaning to put a cat in there, just never got around to it. the fact that it sounds pretty good is the only thing that stops me from putting a stack in the bed like I've wanted to forever.

Ive gotta agree with wicked sludge, dont take out the cats, rippin them off aint gonna give u any performance gains, its not gonna change the sound very much, and plus, rippin them off is gonna make ur truck pollute the air sooooo much, know im not tryin to preach to u, u make ur own choice, but i suggest u don't rip off the cats.
