Got to drive my buddies new 2011 Raptor this afternoon. Big motor and lots of power to this beast. He did not want the crew cab 'cause he told me his dad bought a Raptor crew cab the week before he bought his!! So there I was...taking that Raptor off roading near my property. Having a blast and I handed the keys back to him and he left to go home... and then I realised....crap!!! I did not take a single picture with my cell phone!!! I was bummed out about that!!! When he gets back from N.C. in a few weeks I will get some pictures of me behind the wheel. He has about 350 acres of property up in N.C. and he is on his way up there to build a new guest cabin next to his cabin for family and friends this coming year. My wife and I are going up there for Christmas time to see the place.

My goodness gracious lord have mercy, I really want one!!!!! My wife said to wait until March and see how we are doing since the house is almost paid off. If we can, I will buy it then. I might have to go to Georgia to get it at a better price. He got his there and he told me it was right at $37,900 with all the extras (security package, Lo jack, service agreement and the extended warranty). He told me that going to Georgia save him a few grand!!! I have not checked here yet to see what the Ford dealer is really asking, but after Christmas I will shop around. I don't know how much my military retirement pay raise will be (if we get one). I know my VA disability pay is not going up for the second year in a row!! And this is an important factor for me to dish out so much money for a truck. The worst thing I would do is use some of the equity on the house for a small mortgage and pay cash for the Raptor...but this is still about 4 months away to decide if I want one this bad.
Well, for now it is a dream and that may come true or just fizzle out....lol. But....at least I got to drive one!!!!!

my buddy just got the 2011 6.2 raptor a few days ago, and sold his level2 ranger lifted 7"

superman, id like to see pics of your truck too. not to prove anything i just love the 78/79s,, i have a 79 bronco myself lol

I would've preferred a 4.6 sohc Ranger. It seems ok but how many wheelers go that fast-

anyone who has seen a solidly built desert truck, not trophy truck, but a solid runner can see all the design flaws that dont make this truck a hardcore mobbing device like they have led everyone to believe. the rear end has stock size shackles, and ... are you sitting for this... LIFT BLOCKS. its really still just an f150 with fancy marketing and a factory mid travel set up. even looking at an aftermarket long travel set up that you can buy and bolt on you see the raptor isnt really a desert rig. i laugh and point when i see one.

Working at one jobsite I see a mom in her 40's taking her son to school in the morning in her Raptor... I can't help but lol when I see her.

What a way to start the week. I hope you guys enjoyed all this stupid BS last night.

And for the record, my father had a 1979 F150. I've ridden in it, and I've ridden in a 6.2L Raptor across the Nevada desert. The F-150 would have fallen apart well before the Raptor.

Thanks, Jim, for putting an end to that!!! I had a great time driving the 2011Raptor and Ford one my heart back again after getting to take a great drive in one!! I had no idea this was going to turn out to be one of those 'Beast From Hell' slap fest thingies...lol

It is my dream truck. But it cost more than my house lol

Love the Raptor. I love gawking at them and the great thing about the Motor City is that I've been seeing them on the road on a regular basis - even before they actually launched.

I was just driving next to a blue one today. I love the stretched width, these summapups barely fit in a lane.

The 35" BFG's make me firm.

You guys are comparing to all these race trucks and badmouthing this and that about the raptor.

The whole point is that ITS BETTER THAN A STOCK F150. Its just a more capable version, like you said, NOT A TROPHY TRUCK!

My plan is to wait them out and get one they get cheaper. :secret:
