Its me again. Money is tight so Ive decided to stick with my stock wheels, I want to put 31's on it but they are only 6.5 inches wide correct? Whats the biggest tire i can fit on them.

Thay are 15's. Not sure the width, but maybe you guys know. Heres a pic of the wheel. Its a 93.

Sorry, only picture I have :(

Stock Wheel Max Tire Size

it should be a 7" wide wheel. so you can run 31's on them.

there should be a stamp on the inside of the rim with the rim size but they are probably 15X7. this page should help look towards the bottom for the pics of wheels and the size.

the width will decide how wide a tire you will want to run, usually you want 2-3" wider than your wheel but some people use wider tires so they can air down more. the height of the tire you can run will be limited by the clearance on your truck around the tire and by your gear ratio. you can fit a taller narrow tire better than a wider tire

my truck is the same as yours except it is a 1994 at stock ride hight and I clear 32X9.50X15 super swamper TSL on stock ranger 15X7 rims, 5th gear is unusable with 3.73 gears.

the first link will tell you what gear ratio you have and the second will help you figure what you should have. you can get away without regearing for a while but you will have less acceleration

Ok, It is 7" wide. Thanks.

Im not sure wht gears I have, and dont really want to crawl around in the snow to find out, not today atleast, but even with stock tires I have never needed 5th gear!

I ran 31x10.50 on my 1985 15x6.5's with no problems, I now have 15x8 with 33x12.50 Ive seen 33 x12.50 on the stock wheels, you just cant air down as low. If your not airing down then you wont have a problem with nearly anytire size. Befire this wheel tire craze the old guys use to put all kinda sizes on their stock wheels. my ranger is unlifte with front removed and I run the 33's with minimal rubbing on the fenders, unless im stuffing which Im not right now.
