I'm just curious as to what my configuration ranger makes power wise to the rear wheels, it's a stock 2.3 with the a4ld 3.73 open rear end, 2wd. I couldn't find much information about it online aside from the terrible Google Ai claiming it's about 75-85 horsepower at the wheels. Not really important for me to find out, I'm just curious

Thats probably pretty close to correct if not a bit on the high side if its a lima.

I think they were rated at 90ish HP

Depending on year, 80-112 HP and 116 to 132tq before drivetrain losses. Probably close to a 15% loss before power hits the wheels considering you have an auto.

So.....

A 2.9 is putting more to the wheels then a lima has at the flywheel.....

by like 3 tops... but yeah

the autobot number is likely pretty close, I'm pretty sure they were crank horsepower from '89-94 so take say 15% off of that and you get in the 80hp range... I think the '95-97 were around 105...

I don't mind the low power with the manual trans too much, kinda annoying that I always get slowed down by people with 300+ horsepower that just aren't paying attention
