hey i just added some explorer leafs in the back and got about 1 3/4. then i cranked the torsion bars and got about the same which i read wouldn't be hard on front end gear. BUT....to get it 1 3/4, the bars are cranked to the max, which isn't good for gear. could the bars just be weak and not lifting what they should(which would be fine),or were my bars cranked before i got it a little and now i put them to the max? if anyone knows the stock ride height for a 99 ranger it should help me find out how much higher i am over stock...hopefully not 3 inches. thanks

I used to have a '99 Ranger and it sat a lot higher in front than the '02 that I replaced it with. Although after ten years it's possible that the torsion bars developed some sag. .02.

Jack up the truck by the frame and measure how much travel the tires have in the down direction. When i cranked a 98, it had 3 inches of travel stock, and after lifting it 1 1/2 iches, it had 1 1/2 inches of travel after that. Measue it and you should see if your close to max or have a little left in it.

thanks a lot. hopefully all goes well.

Inspection station says my '99 should be 20 inches from bottom of door to ground.
