Still no power....pulling hair out...

Im going to double check, but it seems like last time i checked running fuel pressure the pressure actually went up to 45. Thst was before i discovered the vacuum line. Someone actually had screwed with it once before cause the line had the factory plastic ends broke off and shoved into a piece of rubber hose. It was blocked at one of the factory ends.

Do you have vacuum at the vacuum port, or is it clogged also? What caused the vacuum line to the FPR to clog?

I just tried mine, and the RPMs pick up due to the vacuum hose being disconnected, but with the vacuum port plugged there is no difference in RPM with the FPR connected or discoonected. Like RonD said, just higher fuel pressure with the FPR disconnected (which again, did not appear to affect the RPM).

Good vaccuum at the port.

Have you used vacuum gauge to check for blocked exhaust?

Yes. Needle drops then pops right back to 17 or 18 when throttle is goosed.

Do you have any valve train noise?

One of the reasons Ford eliminated the knock sensor was that normal valve train noise could fool it into thinking the engine was knocking and it would pull timing.

It does tick a bit. But i wouldnt call it excessive. But i do have a rap rap rap from the patched EGR tube...would that set it off?

Depends on what it is rap rap rapping against. The knock sensor detects vibrations in the block, and the EGR tube does get close to where that knock sensor it located.

Would that cpu i mentioned earlier from the 88 A4LD truck work with mine having a 5 speed?

It's probably going to give you headaches. There may be a rev limiter, and other issues from the few missing electronic components.

I thought I had a few 88 5-speed computers, but I can't find any right this minute.

What's keeping you from using the ecm from the old truck?

I was wanting to use an 88+ ecm to eliminate knovk sensor/egr. Other then that nothing.

Ok...

Went out this morning and pulled out the IAT sensor, completly coated in carbon, cleaned it off, idle improved somewhat...

However...

I passed the KOEO test again, fired it up, and right away got a code 10, then it started showing me memory codes of 33 and 18.

Why am i getting memory codes during a koer test?

Still no cylinder readout, i shut it off, cleared codes, passed all koeo tests and memory codes were gone.

Fired it up and it ran maybe 60 seconds, memory codes showed back up during running test.

Wtf???

How do you know they were memory codes?

Says "c" in the code reader display. For continious memory.

It says "O" of KOEO codes and "R" for KOER codes.

Code reader works flawless on my 97.

What would send the signal to the code reader for number of cylinders? TFI, pickup coil? Or just the ECM?

Im thinking one day this week yanking the distributor outta rusty #1 and trying that. The truck always acted goofy when it was hot outside, as in, it would cut out going down the road for a sec or 2, but never actually die, and only on days where it was 90+. But since all this shit started that hasnt happend.
