hi i am relatively inexperienced with audio and electronics so all help is appreciated. my '94 xlt with the premium audio setup is not functioning at all, i put in an aftermarket alpine head unit and aftermarket infinity reference speakers and it worked beautifully for about 3 months then the head unit stopped getting power. i checked the fuse on the truck as well on the rear of the head unit and they are both fine, however the dome light does not work and the dinger for when the door is open does not work either. i know those are all run off the same fuse. what could the problem be? i had tow straps and tie downs in the compartment where the factory amp is under the drivers side flip down seat. could those possibly have messed up something with the amp? should i save myself the trouble and take it to an audio shop and have them fix it? i hope i dont have to route new wires from the head unit to the amp and the amp to the speakers, but if i do, how much would that cost?

is the amp getting juice?

no it isnt because the head unit isnt either

i would get a multi meter and start from the oem part of the harness, make sure things are supposed to get 12v are and make sure you didnt lose a ground, cause i know alot of time there are common grounds. so you can lose that and lose "unrelated" things.
