Hey all,

I want to get a nice headunit for my '96 Ranger XLT (it currently has the radio/CD combo) and I'm wondering what my options are.... Can I stick a stereo from a newer - like 2007-2010 Ranger - into mine with no problems. That way I can have the MP3 hookup as well.

What about a single DIN stereo - do they make adapter kits for the Ranger for this? I have one in my Mustang that I could move over to the Ranger....

Or how about double DIN options? I want to see/hear what others have done! Thanks!!

Here's my setup. I bought the Metra trim kit, which I don't really care for. I also have the Scosche wiring kit, which I like a lot.

I love my deck which is a Pioneer DEH-3100UB which has a USB input.

Here's a pic:

Oh nice, so you bought this kit here: http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-5802, and just put the CD holder on the bottom. How come you don't care for it?

I wonder if this one from Scosche would be any better: http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/product/42. And then are the "Premium Sound" wiring harnesses the ones I'd need, or just the regular old Ford speaker ones? I'll have to take a look.... Thanks for the input!!

Scosche is almost always better.

I actually have an older version of that stereo, I love it.
