Steering wheel swap issue

I have a 1992 ranger xlt. I bought a grant steering wheel and adapter kit(4288). The kit has splines but truck doesnt. Anyone have info on this?

You have the wrong adapter

No splines, has the tabs that lock adapter to shaft when you slide it on
Do the closeup view on adapter and you will see the difference

But it's a Grant 3288
You got, were sold, a Grant 4288 which is for newer rangers, so exchange it

Contacted grant directly, apparently 4288 is the correct adapter. The one i bought from the auto parts store was mislabeled. Waiting for it to come in the mail

I was looking into this for my last Ranger after I swapped in the 1996 dash and steering column. Everything I read said up to 1994 but others said they worked up to 1997...I decided to not bother with it after all...

I guess if it was mislabeled then any fit information would be incorrect also...many people looking for that information...not so much lately but used to see it come up often.

And this was based on the description of adapter, i.e. no splines, not the year of the Ranger, right?

Did you finish the install I’m stuck with my steering wheel off not sure what to do next and I don’t know if I have to remove the horn piece with the wires feel like it’s in the way
