I lost my only set of keys for my ranger, and i cant afford a locksmith yet. Damn things parked 2 blocks away from my house, and i need to move it before my buddy's landlord throws a fit. So i pulled the ignition switch out, started the truck. Then i ran into another problem, the steering wheel lock. Anybody know how to bypass or even break it?

you need the key, to get the lock cylinder out, then you need to take the slide gear out that pushes the ignition switch on and then there is a lock pawl that it in there, you may need to take it out or just push it so its not locking the steering wheel anymore

Update:
I wound up just forcing on it all, wound up breaking the steering wheel and shifter lock. Drove it for about a month with no keys, then somebody thought it would be funny to lock my doors. Broke my rear window trying to get to the latch. Took me a while to break the ignition lock cylinder out, with quite a bit of force i twisted the end off of it.

Unfortunately, my shift lever and indicator havent been the same ever since. Still works though.
