Steering Stabilizer Sale

looks like you got a loose bolt up on the top right of that first pic...

personally, I don't see where they are needed. I've had one on mine and it changed nothing on all new steering parts.. If there is slack somewhere, it might help. Even on all the jeeps we do, people buy them then end up taking them off, or breaking them when flexing. that axle drops down, something has got to give for that stabilizer...

or manual steering, I don't know. Never tried it on manual steering.

Good catch. I had to loosen that bolt to be able to get the one in for the bracket. It has since been re-tightened.

With manual steering while driving in town--the potholes are in control of the wheel direction..............with power steering---the potholes have no effect on the wheel direction whether in town or on unpaved roads.

You could just add power steering DG! Lol

I put the one I bought several months ago on today. Of course there was no way to make the frame side bracket work. Thank goodness for the scrap pile for an old piece of I beam, 7" angle grinder with a cutting wheel, drill press, grinding wheel and flap wheel. Got her done. Was too late to grab a pic when I finished.

Needed to get it out of the way so I can set the cab back on the chassis tomorrow afternoon. I finally conned my brother in law into coming over to help. Will finally have a free garage bay after I can't remember how many months.....

I need the upper body exercise..... :icon_rofl:

(P/S is for wimps........ ;missingteeth; )

but seriously....I got tired of dealing with old leaks/new leaks/gremlins

Here is my 15$ RockAuto steering stabilizer. Couldn't get a decent angle or enough clearance to frame mount it so I attached it to the front cross member. Of course the kit was missing the U-bolts but a quick trip to the Discovery Store solved that. The L bracket on the cross member was made out of a scrap of 10" 14.5 Lb per foot I beam so I figure it is stronger than what came with it from the factory anyhow.
