Steering Shaft Rag Joint

Okay so I just realized that the rag joint on my ranger is about a quarter inch from the exhaust manifold on my 302. should i be worried?

Put a heat shield on the manifold and it should keep from cooking the rag joint!!!!!

yeah thats what i was thinking....

guess ill fab something up tomorrow....
