Alright guys, I went up to the Schwab today to figure out what they thing would be a good way to run bigger tires on my truck. Had a quote given for a 4" suspension lift, as well as 32's. However, the 32's they offer only come in a 15", and I already have plans for 16's from a member off of RPS, so obviously that is out of the question. Now looking at 265's.

So, the list of mods so far is:

Visor
Reciever

And that's it, lol!

What's coming up for it:

4" suspension lift
Tires (not certain on the size yet)
Brush guard
Hella 500's
Fancy wheels (I think I posted which ones I want, if not, it might be in my sig, but otherwise, you'll just have to wait and see :icon_thumby:)
CB (got a Cobra 148F, just have to figure out a mounting point and run the wiring, but as I am lazy, I have yet to get to it :))
Can't think of anything else at the moment....

I'm hoping to have at least the lift and tires done by the end of September, and if not then, I'll run these tires for the winter and save up.

A buddy of mine was saying a bed bob would look killer, but honestly, I disagree. I want to run a topper anyway, and would rather not bob it as well.

Either way, all I know is that it'll look like sex, at least to me

Any suggestions are cool from you guys. I'll update, of course, as I go along. I'll probably just start putting my random drive pictures in this thread as well, just so I'm not making more threads then necessary :).
 
if you still want 16's on your truck go find out what brands they have available in a 305-70-16, that is what i have on mine and even with less than a 1/4 tread left they still measure out at a hair more than 32 inches, and that, FWIW is from the ground to top of outside lug:icon_bounceblue:

Well, the calculater thing I was using today was saying that a 275/75R16 is just a hair more then a 32, and that a 265 is like a 31.5. But also, running a 305 would be different since my truck is a lot lighter then yours.

We'll see where the truck stands after the lift, though. I got quoted almost $1300 for the labor included at schwab, so I may try and find a DIY kit, and get my old man to help me out.
 
if that is with shocks every thing that aint bad. i have been looking for my 86 and the average cost is about 850/900 with shocks. and if that price includes front end realined and all the labor i would jump on it.:drool:

as long as it is a good lift company, "daves back yard lift company" we love to lift things.

i think it was aamco that had the monkeys beeting on the trannys "always wanted to work on a tranny":shok:
 
Yup. Shocks, pitman arm, springs, alignment, carrier bearing bracket, and fancy boots :)

16's will be plenty for me. Almost too much, actually.
 
I have those wheels in my shed. Well 15"s. They were on my ZJ when I bought it, and will be going on my daughet's XJ. Mine are a PAIN to keep shiny though....

Yes, they are, but well worth it. I had them on my old 4Runner, and loved them.
