Starting problems

Yesterday we were leaving my grandmas and the truck wouldnt start. Looked for the oblivious, checked power to the coil, tfi, and they were fine but when we tested for spark got nothing. Found a conector to the coil that was iffy and undid it, cleaned it, taped the metal connectors together and the truck fired up and ran great. But today my dad called from work saying it just died in the parking lot when he got there. Now I dont know what it could be. I think it might be the TFI going out or the coil is going bad. Has anybody had these problems. Any suggestions?

tfi is famous for crapping out. Do not assume that it's the problem in this case though.

Turns out the TFI moduel was the problem. Runs much better now.
