Starter Solenoid?

There is a trigger wire on that solenoid on the fender. It should read 12 volts when the key is turned thus triggering the solenoid.

So the trigger wire should show no volts, turn the key to start, you should have 12. letting go of the key should return the voltage to zero. and of course if you get 12 volts and the Outgoing wire doesn't show 12 volts. then its the solenoid.

Found it. The ground wire to the starter may have been clean but the hot wire was nice and oxidized. A little sandpaper and its running like a champ. It's always something stupid...
