starter problem?

i have a 91 ranger 2wd 2.3 5 spd, its got 135 thousand miles on it. about a week ago all of a sudden, when trying to start the truck all i get is a click in the solenoid. no turn over, nothing. i checked all the wiring between the solenoid and the starter and it appers to be alright, is this a bad starter? i havent taken the starter out yet to have it tested but i figured i could ask here first.

Sounds like the exact same thing my 91 was doing when the starter packed it in.

Pull it out and test it anyway.
