My credo
I don't subscribe to causes that are compelled by irrational fears.
I'm in the process of reinstalling the engine and hooking everything back up to my 2002 4.0 V6, and have become confounded by the starter motor wiring. I was wondering if anyone had a really good picture and/or video of what wires go to where on the 4.0 starter motor.

They are pretty much the same from early 1990's

Picture of terminals here: https://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2014/02/08/21/32/pic-4644068173647346939-1600x1200.jpeg

Battery positive cable, the BIG wire, hooks to the top large post, Red cable in 2002

Smaller terminal is for the activation wire, can be a stud/nut as shown or a push on tab connector, yellow/blue wire in 2002

Another picture here: https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/images/articles-0-99/80/86/image_T_1.jpg

"S" is for the smaller yellow wire

Thanks RonD, I was able to figure it out.
