So i got a new flexplate put in. I go to start it and i get grinding, I replaced the starter and i am still getting grinding when i go to start it.
any ideas whats going on?

did you put the flexplate in right? maybe something is loose or has missing teeth?

Just had the same problem on a cheby, put a spacer between the starter and the block and it works great.

chevys will allow for a spacer in the starter. The ford had a "better idea" and you cant put a spcer in there. so im told.

i understand that the flexplate is actually differant on the newer ones that the original ford part, and that you cant mate the fly wheel to the old spacer. (?)

well it seems to be getting to the place that it was when i took it in the first time. i even heard some rubbing in the bell houseing.
come to find out they did not replace the spacer. Im hope that is the issue.
I had a local shop do the work. so it is under warranty.
im :annoyed:
