Squeeling noise from a/c system!??

I just bought my ranger a couple months ago and i just tryed out the a/c today and it works great. but when i turned the a/c off to park a squeeling noise started and now stays on with the a/c on and off. its a constant noise that stays the same as i drive. not really sure what is goin on since this is the first car i have had with a/c...so i want to use it. any ideas?

With it off? Something else is screwing up, not A/C.

In a parking lot in particular, I'd suspect the power steering pump. Though anything in the front of the engine can seize up and make the belt squeal.
