1989 4x4 xlt 2.9 auto. Seems when I get one issue fixed another comes up. Now my dash started squeeking overnight I need advice, where to start, what to try .Thanks.

Hose it down with WD-40. It is actually good for plastic and rubber and it does not have silicone.

I used to own a 88 bronco II that had that same problem. I was able to cure this by removing the dash front panel surrounding the radio etc and ducktaping foam to any spot that was a pressure point. simple redneck fix that took only 30 minutes max and 0-5 dollars depending on whats laying in your garage.

Thanks for the info, I will try the wd-40 first since it's the easiest.

My Zuki has a roof that squeaks in hot weather...and I've tried the WD trick...it does help for a while usually...but I also needed to go around and push the rubber that was on the cap back into place because it shifts...you might be able to use something like that if you find the squeaky area...just a small piece of rubber that fits over one piece of metal to or plastic and keeps it from rubbing on the other pieces next to it...

You will likely find the squeak is a connection like between the top part of the dash and the bracket...but if you can't find it...spray away with the WD...at least it should shut up for a while...
