Springs are measured in pounds per inch...if a spring is rated at 400 lbs that means it takes 400 pounds to compress the spring one inch. TTB/TIB rangers need a heavier spring rate due to the fulcrum factor of the beams...lighter springs have been used to give more droop in offroad setups, and yes, spring rate has an effect on ride height...

Well, take a look at these two. There is a spec on there that is significantly different. The number under "Load". 899 vs. 1650. I was asking about that number. Sorry if I did not clarify.
All the info you want is right there infront of you... The spring rate is almost the same, but the one with a higher load is longer unsprung, and shorter sprung, meaning that larger load is causing it to compress more.
I would run from these springs though. Damn near 500 ppi means your truck will be rock solid, wont have much flex at all. For a daily driver, 400ish is okay. For an off-road truck, you want something more like 220 (Jeep XJ coils.)
