Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Mine is a 95 4x4 ttb d35. The passenger side spindle nuts keep coming loose. And then i get wheel play. I have used the wrench, bfh and a punch. I think i have them locked down nice and tight and then they loosen up again. Is this common or are my locknuts shot.mine have the two circular nuts with notches and a washer with holes qnd a pin in between them. Are there better aftermarket ones? I tired of retightening it every time i can feel it come loose.

tighten the outer nut tighter. get the socket that fits them and use a big breaker bar or torque wrench. ive heard of guys putting 250 ft/lbs on em without trouble.

Does your washer still have it's pin? There is a little pin that keeps the inner nut locked to the toothed washer. It helps prevent the bearing from getting loose, but the pin can break.

Also, torque the piss out of the outer nut.

There is an aftermarket options, though it's very expensive.
The company is, Stage 8
They are, locking spindle nuts

They may not list them for a D35, but they are the exact same nuts as on a D44.

Wait... Your PS keeps loosening...?

Anytime I had an issue with my nuts...(shh)
It was always the DS loosening, and the PS tightening.

Are you setting your wheel bearings correctly?

The Stage-8 nuts are too big to fit inside the d35 hub.

IMO, they shouldn't be needed though. The factory type nuts don't come loose from 250ft-lbs unless there's something amok like the lock pin missing or something.

Hmmm, Good to know.

I never had a loosening issue with my 35 or 44, since I was told by you (junkie) 5-6 years ago on here about the ridiculous amount of torque on that outer nut.

Just issues with water(bad inner spindle bearings), and the bearing spacing/ hard usage issue.

Yes all of it is there. The lock washer still has its pin. The outer lock nut comes loose first then i assume the inside one follows suit. I beat the shit out of it with a bfh and a huge punch on it just to be sure. Ill try the breaker bar method. This is the only time i have never been able to keep them tight. On any vehicle. Thanks for all the advice.

Are your rotors on fully? that may also be part of the problem. and i torqued mine to 150, since thats all my torque wrench goes to. And i dont think ive had a problem with the outers on my PS, just the inner.
