Hey yall, recently my speedometer stopped working, and I bought a speed sensor off RockAuto to fix it. However, I can't find where it is located on my truck, and I've searched for a long while. Wasn't able to find it in the Chilton manual either. Does anyone know where it would be located, ideally with pictures?
If it is my speedometer cable that's broken I'll get that as well, but am really hoping I don't need to pull the dash quite yet, and I have the part anyways so why not install it and see what happens.

Speedometer in the 86 is a cable that runs from the back of the gauge cluster to the tail shaft of the transmission on a 2wd and to the rear output on the transfer case for a 4x4. Either the cluster went bad, the cable, or it’s a problem where the cable attaches. It’s driven by a plastic gear the meshes with the output shaft/tail shaft. So that gear could have gone out. Have to do some investigating
