speakers for 08 Ranger

Word on the street is you can dremel out to fit a 6x9 quite easily, just watch the speaker depth....

memphis 5x7s have amazing clearity, your really not going to find a good quality speaker that has a lot of bass, now a days speakers just have highs and mids with a little bit of bass

If you really want bass, you will need a sub, period.

I had Sony Xplode speakers in my old Ranger for a while. Bass was okay for just speakers, but sound quality sucked. I ended up giving them away to another Ranger owner and putting Polk Audio speakers in. The Polks didn't hit as hard, but the sound quality was much better and it was worth it to switch.

your not going to get the 63hz and below bass from a door speaker. but you can get some good midbass. its all about the installation. take your door panels off. roll your windows up. put a layer of quality deadening(second skin or dynamat extreme) on the outside door skin. then put another on the inner door panel(the side where the speaker mounts). make sure you cover all those holes in the panel. this is called deadening and sealing your doors. you should see a dramatic improvement in midbass.

thanks or the input. i bought a set of pioneer 4-ways that i want to install. those i was planning on putting in the doors. i was looking for something to put in the rear since its right behind the seat. i will have to try that deadening though.
