spark plugs

what spark plugs should i get for my 93 4.0 efi? iv heard of some that just suck
o and does it matter if i use 7mm wires instead of 8mm?
whats up with the gap stuff to? is this needed?

the gap is normally. 0.052 to 0.056. i gap them about 0.054. i prefer to stay away with Bosch.. an run the autolites.. usually the platinum or double platinum.

some one correct me if iam wrong but running the 8mm wires would deliver a greater spark over the 7mm..

Destroyer has the gap correct, .052-.056 and I also run mine at .054

As for the plugs, I have had good results with Motorcraft. Everyone says that autolites/motorcraft plugs are the same. They probably are, but I will stick with what ford uses. I would pony up the extra cash for the 8mm wires. I am not sure what price difference, but when I bought my last set, they only had 8mm on the computer.

they are accel universal wires i never used on my transmaro bird so i but them on the truck.
anyone else know 7mm or 8mm whats the difference? does it matter?

This is the insulation thickness, and the benefits are those that go along with a thicker insulation. The core is what delivers the spark, and there are several options.shady

Bosch +2 and +4 plugs (or any multi electrode plug) do not get along well with the Ford ignition system although they seem to be fine on other makes. Autolite and Motorcraft are not the same thing, Ford spun off Autolite 25 or 30 years ago, but either plug would be okay. I generally use Autolite double platinums because they're easier to find.
