Howdy! I was hoping someone could give me some knowledge here, I went to replace all 8 spark plugs and wires in my 2.3l 91 ranger, the plugs I pulled out were short reach however all the parts stores keep trying to give me long reach spark plugs. I counted 8 threads in the hole yet all the info I’m finding online is telling me I need long reach but that just will not work (unless I want my pistons rubbing all on the plugs….no thanks) I am absolutely baffled so if anyone could point me in the right direction for which plugs I need that would be great!

Their book is probably right, they're goofy... some have more threads than others but the taper is in the same spot with the same distance from the taper to the electrode... Use either Autolite 764 or the platinum or iridium version of that and you're golden...

The platinum plugs just last longer, you can run whatever...
