spare tire key???

i have a 1999 ranger 4x4 and right under there is a slot for a key.... its to uncover some thing that you spin and it releases the spare tire..... well i dont have that key... so what should i do??? drill out??? or what???

my bros 2000 supercab has the same thing, the previous owner did this: he managed to slide the spinner)u know the metallic stuff u arm by locking the 3 tubular other stuff, sorry but i forgot the correct english word for that ) under the lock, right on top of the bumper, he did a mark on the bumper plastic in the process, but at least we know how to release the tire now, u will have to manage to slide the handle a bit inclined upwards from the bumper to void the lock and get it right to the spinning device, i hope it helps
