South Jersey area: Anyone wanna ride sometime near the end of the month?

i will def be there as long as i find out why im not charging i may just bring a extra batt and it is running a little rough but we will see this will be its first time off road since i bought it i have done a shit load of work on it and still a little bugs to get out but i think it will be fine

It's gonna be a full house it looks like. Nobody is tagging along with me, my friend needs to replace his ball joints. I'll have my girlfriend though, that's if she can get in the truck... HAHA

I'll be there at 930, weather is down to only 40% chance, so it should turn out nice.

well im in just dont know for how long i found a couple of problems tonight i think i have fixed so we will see in the morning i am going to bring a extra batt and if i get out to atsion and it wont restart i will swap batt and go back to the house and fix it but i drove it around a bit tonight and it kept restarting so i think it will be good

Hell yeah.
I'm still cleaning out clay from under my truck, so much was stuck in the front diff I've got a ball of it 8" in diameter.

well i had a great time even though i broke a lot of stuff(3 body mounts a window motor front axle joint and oh ya THE BACK BUMPER) JUST TO NAME A FEW
BUT is was well worth it and to all you guys i watched the video and its not that bad i was not going to flip lol IT WAS BAD

Had a great day today guys, we really gotta keep this going. Anyway I posted my pictures here, let's try to keep them all in one thread.

After the ride cleanup

Just some ideas for a after the ride cleanup for you folks (in case you did not already know:icon_thumby:)

Open the fill plugs on front and rear differentials and see if muddy water comes out. Remember, axle seals are designed like a check valve to keep oil in with no pressure. Axles under deep water produce about 1PSI or more forcing water in, regardless of the breather location.

Ford stock front axle hubs have a weak seal on the axle shaft. Pull off the front hubs and look for water in there.

Drum brakes? Open then up and get the mud out, regrease the adjuster.

I saw an XJ along for the ride in the pics. If it has a front disconnect axle, open up the disconnect actuator, it's a low point that traps mud and water.

And something new I learned, the XJ computer next to the airbox is NOT waterproof after about 15 years.

Haha, thanks Dennis, I've been cleaning my truck since I got home last night, the interior is completely gutted and the seat fabric is in the washing machine right now. It was messy but I had a blast. Tomorrow I'll finish power washing then I'll move under to check the fluids and mechanicals.
