as most of you know i tipped over my 95 Ford Ranger and bent up the driver door broke the driver side glass put dents in the driver fender and a couple near the fuel door. Anyways the body shop called me with how much its going to cost, 864.00 but thats not all......thats the price without PAINT!!
I dont want my truck back with, say a purple door and a blue fender, its a green truck it should be painted green!!!
Im just going to call them and tell them to paint it, but i hope the price does'nt skyrocket, its just a fender and door and part of the bed.
But ya never know.:annoyed:

If it isn't covered by your insurance, you might get it fixed partway now, and the rest later. get the door and fender fixed now and worry about the dents in around the fuel door later.

you might even get lucky and they find a green door and fender.

The paint is going to be a good chunk more I am thinking...

another thing i've done for customers is call junk yards for parts off the same paint code truck.the color will probably be a little off and the shipping a little more but it is a good budget alternative just expect a few small dings and scratches from the wrecking yard parts.

When I got hit in the B2 I found a ranger a couple years older than mine with the same paint color and used that fender. It looks the same, except in direct sunlight.

The hourly rate for painting in my area is $40 an hour. I would expect another 4-600 at least.

both times i needed fenders for my truck i was able to find the correct color at my local u-pull-it. the second time it had a sticker decal that i had to remove but with a little patience and the hairdryer it came off really easy and with out leaving any residue. it was about 35 for each fender.

i bet you could find the parts for under 200 at most yards. fenders and doors are bolt on parts. there is a good chance that you will get lucky and find the right color truck. you could save yourself alot of money with a little work.
