Yeah, she got another one. August '66 build date, 289, auto, A/C, power steering, etc... color is factory Ivy Gold. there's a very strong possibility this car has only 65,000 original miles.

she is still researching its history, she already knows everyone that owned it, where it was originally sold (california), and some other cool stuff

Your mom is the coolest.

Tell her to buy me a 68 convertable!

everyone like more pics, right?

Check out the link in my sig, it's my dads website :D

Sweet stang, Thats a pretty sweet website BlackBII, i just spent like an hour lookin at all the pics on it. Your dad does awesome work!

:shok::shok: i dont know what to look at more the old stang or the new camaro sitting at the light behind it. but both still sweet.

Mustang-nerd chiming in (sorry, I love this stuff):

Nice '66 - that color is actually called "Sauterne Gold" (code "Z"). There is another, dark green metallic that is called "Ivy Green." (code "R").

You might be confusing the interior color, which actually is called "Ivy Gold," as in "Ivy Gold and White" (luxury or "pony" interior), code "68." Ivy Gold never came on its own as an interior color, just as a secondary color for carpet, seat belts and the top of the dashboard. There is another version of the pony interior that has Parchment seats without the Ivy Gold sides and tops, and you could also get a standard interior in Parchment with Ivy Gold as the secondary color.

I had a 1967 Cougar that was this color, but Mercury called it "Sage Gold," also code "Z." My car had a parchment bench seat with black carpet and dash-top.

tell her i want a 67 fastback with a 351w and manual trans for xmass

that thing looks like its in spectacular condition

my buddy's grandpa has an all original 66 that he bought brand new in 66 we borrow it and cruise around all the time, its got the 289 auto and the thing is slow as piss, doesnt do burnouts and smells like moth balls inside lol but man its a looker and fun to stand next to at the beach parking lot :) its a magnet for sure!

Awesome Stang. I'll eventually have mine. Your mom rocks

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Next weekend I get to go see the "new" stang in person for the first time, and go for a cruise :yahoo:

She also got a good sized (mustangs unlimited) gift certificate from her previous employees (she just switched jobs). So she is probably gonna have some parts for the '65 for us to put on together :yahoo:

I don't know which will be more fun? cruising through the mountains, or wrenching with my mom.

she actually bought it at a VW dealership. owner is selling off some of his personal collection. having a few classics out front is probably a good "attention getter" as well.
