what keep rain water from being sucked into the engine on a forward facing snorkle?

The ARB's are bell shaped with water escapement chanels that let the water hit the back of the bell and drain along the outside edge of the upright tube. A lot of people just turn the scoop backwards. A little rain isn't going to hurt much anyway. Not much really gets in and the engine will just burn it off.

cool! thanks! i am kinda thinking about this idea.... building my own snorkle, but instead of going to the top of the roof or into the cowl itself, i was going to take a small scoop (just big enough to cover the tube) and putting it on top of the cowl panel.... whats your input on that? if i explained it right?

OK if you don't go too deep. I have floated my truck several times and have the hood under water fairly often but there is a lot of water on the trails up here. Up on the cowl is certainly better than behind the headlight!!

cool. thanks again for all the help. if i use pvc though the inside of the fender, should i put some sort of drain in it or something just incase it inhales water at the carwash or something? i dont plan on going in water over the hood, usually just above the bumper.
