Took the Ranger out on a logging trail yesterday. Tried crossing a river in 2wd (open 7.5 3.73's) and it was a no-go.

I went to put it in reverse to see if I could back up.... Heard a smash and got out to lock the hubs in. Bedside was smashed out a foot or so!

4x4 was no problem getting out.

I pulled over on my way home and punched it back into place.

Not very happy...

Thankfully it didn't remove my exhaust!

I guess a logging road is different than a true 4wd trail, but my opinion is, if you are afraid of getting a dent that size, then you and you rig don't belong on the trails.

But I'll cut ya some slack since it was a dirt road, haha.

Dents happen, but after the first one, I've found the 2nd, 3rd, and on up, dents, don't seem to matter nearly as much. The suck, but shit happens.

It's just sheet metal.......ever see metalmacguyvers truck? :icon_rofl:

Like the others said, body damage happens. But it makes the rest of them alot easier. Wait until you get to start replacing corner lights and tail lights all the time, lol. I dont think there is a strait piece on my truck, even the roof and hood have dents.
