I would route it forward, and up the firewall to a high point in the engine compartment.

just buy some 3/8" I.D. fuel line (I think that is the diameter) and either route it up high in your engine bay or into you air box using grommets or silicon to seal it up.

I would agree, run the vent into your engine bay. I like redranger's idea of runnin it into the intake box.
