skinny vs. wide

IMO... It depends entirely on the situation... I believe skinny is better in most all situations (look at camel trophy trucks etc) ... Something built to trek down the highway for 100's of miles then make it's way off road 100's of miles will undoubtedly benefit from a skinnier (75/85 aspect ratio) tire than a wide one... Now, if youre venturing into those few instances where a wide tire is better (deep mud, sand) I would say go for it... Im not one to build a single purpose 'wheeler' though so I stick with sonething that is a 'jack of all trades... Master of none'...

thats a pretty good summation

I have always been the fan of wider the better. But that is for something that does not drive on the road.

Wide works the best in deep mud, deep sand and deep snow.

I love my 10.50s in almost everything, they get down, grab on and don't let go, deep snow being the exception.

10.50s are nice on mine, especially since the 3.slow doesn't have enough power to break a wider tire free in certain conditions

I believe wider is better on sports cars... But, boy does it get annoying on the street... They wander and grab on every little crack...
