Funny thing is, I was reading in Automobile magazine that southern sheriffs and border patrol loved the Raptor for the deserts in Arizona and such, but were still using beefed up Suburban diesels and such when an SUV was required. I bet there could be a market for something like that - in saner 4 door model - here in the USA. Even as a niche model, it could be just the thing for people turned off by the Freestyle, er Taurus X, MY BAD, new Explorer crossover we have now. If the Dakota is back, and GM is still managing to sling Suburbans and Tahoes, I don't see why they can't still make body on frame SUV's. If my friend's 4.0 AWD 2000 Explorer could get 22mpg on the highway, CAFE standards can't bee too dificult to hit with an ecoboost or something.

gm isnt selling very many of the big SUV's. atleast our dealership isnt.
