**Shudder** (and shiver)

I have been bitching about 21 degree weather in Tennessee........................You guys make me feel like a candy A$$ with the -25 windchill!
But hey..........Im 45 fat and slow......gimmie a break lol.

DAM thats freakin cold!

So far only snow here. minus 10C. But winter is just starting so. While Ottawa doesn't get the sillyness that Prairies gets By mid January through to the end of feb I expect regular minus 30C-40C not including windchill.

My IAC got stuck yesterday. the windchill from that nice storm was about minus 20C enough that if the engine compartment of the truck is facing the wind overnight, the engine doesn't want to co-operate at the starting process =>

Yes sir, it's another one of those days here. I hear its supposed to mild up over the weekend, so to all those prairieboys, I think we're in luck! Maybe the warmer weather will bring some of the white stuff with it, too!!

The good news about this cold snap, I suppose, is that the rivers here in town are freezing up, so I guess ice fishing season is almost upon us!

At any temperature that won't KILL YOU by inhaling it ONCE
ATF (the fluid in your trans and T-case) doesn't get detectably thicker.

If you are running gear oil... that's your problem.

I actually run thin synthetic gear oil in my manual trans
(intended for race car (Indy) or motorcycle transmissions)
and even in single digit temps the difference between it
and ATF isn't noticeable.

Any Canadian that isn't on his knees praying three times a day
while burning a tire as a "Sacrifice" that global warming is real
is IMO, nucking futz!

It's been staying above zero here in the UP of michigan, but is hasn't stopped snowing for two weeks now. The snow just slows down. I had about 2 feet of snow piled up behind my B2 and more snow covering the front to the top of the wheel well. Put it 4X4 and got out :icon_thumby: but it was still alot of snow.

Well, I'm definately running ATF in my transfer case. So I guess that the sluggishness comes from my diffs? I know there's gear oil in the rear diff. So THAT will change viscocity depending on temp, right?

What about the front diff? My truck's got the IFS on it. When my truck is in 2wd, I'm assuming that the front diff doesn't turn (because of the pulse-loc hubs) right? So any gear oil that is in there wouldn't have an effect unless I'm in 4x4?

No, you don't have pulse-lock hubs. Those were only used from 1998-2000. 2001+ have live axles where the front axle is engaged all the time, even in 2wd. So it would have an effect.
