should I try cleaning MAF sensor?

You should have no trouble cleaning the MAF, I've done it a couple times on mine, I've used carb cleaner, but I read somewhere that you should soak it in vinegar so I tried that once, but I didn't notice any difference on how it runs. But I haven't cleaned it since I did the vinegar thing, and that's been like 2 years ago, so maybe there's some truth to it. Electrical cleaner would probably be good, you don't want anything that'll leave a residue on the wire, like wd-40 or something similar.

I think the other sensor your talking about is the IAT- air temp sender, which tells the computer how cold the incoming air is.

Clean your MAF sensor using isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip being gentle and careful as you do so. The sensor wire is small and delicate.

Sometimes oil vapor mixes with dirt and cakes on the sensor, and a small light brush is required to knock the sludge loose. Spray chemicals sometimes work if the contamination is light, but occasionally it takes something a little stronger. I look at the sensor using a magnifying glass. You can tell more about the problem by doing so.:)shady

Electronic parts cleaner works great. Just make sure it pure cleaner and not the kind that lubs as well. Don't use vinegar. Use the right tools and leave the vinegar for making pickles...

Also dust builds up in MAF areas as well as the intake air hose from the MAF to the TB. In damp weather the dust gets moist and will start shorting out the MAF and cause missing of the engine. I have had this happen a few times.

I spray the MAF with electronics cleaner and let it dry. Don't use q-tips to clean. Easy way to ruin your MAF. The electronic spray cleaner will have enough force to get rid of all dirt. I will then take the air intake hose off and wash it out with soap and water and scrub the inside out. Make sure you let it dry before putting back on. :icon_hornsup::icon_hornsup:
