Should I be concerned?

1990 auto....when going into reverse,engine speeds a little/trans.hesitates a few seconds-THEN truck goes backwards.Forward goes right in and truck moves.I recently changed the fluid and filter.Truck has done this since I got it,in which it had a bad leaking modularor-recently replaced also...

i have the same thing happening with mine. is the fluid level ok? when its hot put it in each gear for a second and then check it.

I've put about 250 miles on it since the fluid-filter-modulator change.I will check it again (have'nt noticed any leaks).However,why would it (hesitating to "shift") only be reverse and not in forward.

A4LD's are known for that reverse engagement delay's. Nothing to worry about.
