I'm working on installing my leveling coils on my 93 Ranger 4x4 right now. Measuring the stock shock locations after 2 inches of lift and the suspension at it's low point, i get about 16 inches fully extended. This means it requires a 16 inch shock (at full extension). Most stock shocks at parts stores are between 14.52 inches (cheap) and 15.12 inches (more expensive). There are aftermarket lift shocks, but most of them are for 4 to 6 inch lifts.
I was told I could use a shock extension on the top of the shock to correct this, but so far, all of the shock extensions i've found online have a different thread (3/8 x 24) than the top of the ranger shocks. My factory ranger shocks had 3/8 x 16 thread at the top of the shock. If anyone knows where to find the right size extension, or a different threaded shock for the ranger, please let me know.
