I'm building an old school short course off road 4x4 '91 Ranger race truck on a no budget and am wondering if any one has any pics of front shock placement. Especially upper shock mounting. I'm not using coil overs, they are not allowed in my class, but am allowed up to 4x2" or one 2.5"w/res. I'm going the 2" route because I have 6 pair of good shocks to use.I was thinking of doubling up on the rad arm and one more in front of the beam beside the sway bar bracket. Anyone have pics of what they've done and/or seen?
Thanks in advance,
Richard

My setup. They are 3" body shocks. so 2" ones would give you more room to play with.

CopyKat,
Thanks for the pic, any chance of a top down view? I'm trying to figure out how to tie in the top of the shock mount to the frame. Is your coil bucket cut and metal added or non-stock bucket? Looks like a f-150 or early bronco coil, did you make the beam coil seat? I'd be interested in how you did that too. I'll have to check your build thread again!
Thanks,
Richard

The coil bucket is an F150 bucket I cut the shock mount off of. Added the tube to raise the shock mounts. The front mounted shock is a 14" travel and the rear one is a 12" travel. The coils are EB 5.5" lift coil with a custom lower bucket to mount to the beam. If you look up ThatGuy's build with the EB coils my lower bucket is very much the same.
