I always figured rubber bushings were the way to go with leaf bushings due to the extra little bit of flex they can provide over the stiffer poly's. Just something else to consider.

hey John was telling me this as well. Currently the rear shocks are limiting the flex out back. When they are fully extended, the springs are at full droop. Not flexed, just droop.

I know its hard to tell, but i think this is the only picture i have. This is the shocks fully extended

I have a set of 15.5" travel shocks I'd sell you for dirt cheap. They're brand new only used for mock up purposes PM me if you're interested.
 
Brad, if Josh don't take em, I might be interested in them. I need shocks all around for HWW, which I almost have all the parts to start building that project...

Josh, you ever get the seats figured out?

You will soon have 2 more key components to that project. You spray paint it yet?

Yea, the old seats i had recovered are going back in it. Going to sell the tan leathers or put them in my 68

March 2nd, 2013- Natural Bridge/Daniel Boone National Forrest/Red River Gorge

So a mad dash through all last week led to actually getting Ex ready to wheel by Saturday. We loaded up a buddy's 2 car trailer and headed to the Gorge.

Now it was cold, but clear when we pulled out of lexington. When we got to the gorge, that was not the case. It was cold, and snowing. The snow was not deep, but it did saturate all the trails enough to make most of them a PITA. We only ran a few trails because half way through the day, one of the heeps blew his front hub to pieces and we got to play rescue mission. Anyway, here are some pics.

The pinion yoke guard was wedged into the rock. Winches were not helping, nothing. Ended up pulling from the side to slide the front around, then up she went.

I hope to get D back on the trails soon.

Ex is running weird, check engine light is on, and it's idling really bad. Going to put a scanner on it before I start throwing parts at it.
 
That looks like some good wheeling. I would love to make the trip down to ride there sometime.
 
come on down. The gorge is a gorgeous area that is pretty primitive. No maps, no signs, no designated camp sites, just an open area in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Most of the land belongs to the fed, but most of the actual trails are on privately owned land. There is a lot of logging going on there as well.

There are some more pictures of this area scattered throughout this thread. This is the closest place to me to go wheeling, so we will be frequenting here the most
 
I'm looking for a set of the clear corners and markers. 52 bucks on fleabay, but I'm a cheap skate. Anyone have these they just wanna get rid of?

Remember this? Just heard from the first heep that tried to help... His D ring was mounted in the center of his rear crossmember/bumper... I'll just let the pics speak for themselves...

Said it bent the frame crossmember and the support behind it. And this was with a single line pull M8000 on the front of Ex...
