I have decided to go with a permanent two inch lift on my 2000 two wheel drive Ranger. I have been doing a lot of reading about the various kits out there. I have read that the rubber spacers from the parts store fall apart rather quick. I have also read about evilbay horror stories about the cheap ones turning out to be junk as well. I have seen the high end kits that sell for around $100 and up but I cannot swing that much money right now. I have seen some mention of homemade kits but have not seen any details on them. All I am trying to do is get a couple of inches to improve ground clearance and clear 31 inch tires. The places I go in the woods are not too terribly challenging. Any suggestions on an affordable kit that will do the job without costing a whole lot?

That is an area that I would not want to screw around with cheap parts in.

My advice, save. Put back $10 a week, 2 1/2 months, there is your $100 lift kit.

I agree with you. I just wanted to see what the alternative were before I tried to come up with the money. I am very interested in the home made lifts I have heard about. But I have not found anything about them.

Most of the home-made space setups are for the 97 and older setup.
