sealant necessary?

im about to replace my coolant temperature switch; the manual calls for engine sealant but the threads came pre-wrapped with teflon tape, should i still apply sealant or is it good as it is?

They are not talking about RTV sealant. They mean thread sealant.

If its pre wrapped just thread it in.
