SCOTUS strikes down DC gun ban!

Before someone whines about Sean Hannidy again, I'll just point out that Sean shares his show with Alan Combs, and any future complaints are stilborn.

And don't confuse "commentary" shows with actual "news"

Sean Hannidy doesn't read news he comments on it.
there's a difference.

The NEWS is delievered neutrally.

BOTH sides are typically heard from.
And Fox DID interview BOTH the Mayor of DC and Wayne LaPierre
so they did cover "both sides" of he story AD
I find that many times those who bash Fox do not watch it on a regular basis, they just parrot what they have heard.

If it were not for Fox, we wouldn't know about J. Wright, Ayers, Dorn, et al.
Radicals and a couple of terrorists all. The mainstream sure isn't going to say anything about Obama.

Hannity, Colmes, O'Reilly, Rivera, are all comentators, not news people. They have some of the most liberal people in the world on there for debates. Sharpton, that so called proffesor from the Brookings Institute, and my favorite, Bob Bechtel, and others.

You have to open your mind, and listen to ALL sides to make any kind of informed opinion. :) shady

Technically, isn't striking down gun bans extremely liberal, because it exerts federal power over state rights:

So you honestly think that anybody that wants a gun should be able to go down to Cabela's or where ever and just get one? How would this make anything better?

Uhhh... Actually Yes. Damn straight, that EXACTLY what I believe.

Hell I can go to Cabela's (Hamburg, PA) Right now... Uhhh... Oops!
they've been closed for half an hour... :)
But other than that the only reason I couldn't buy
any gun they had is they generally like to be paid:)

BTW, which of the three Cabela's in Nebraska are you closest to?
I've been to all three (twice each to LaVista and Sidney, Once to Kearny)

My Sig:
Political Correctness: A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

thats good stuff.

I can't take credit for it.
I shamelessly stole it from someone on a reloading forum
that I'm a member on.

Alaska does not require you to have a permit to carry concealed. If you can legally own a firearm, you can legally carry concealed. :icon_thumby: That does not absolve you from knowing the laws but so many people carry here it was the "law of the land" before our legislature passed it anyway. Very few of the weapons I have purchased over the years have any paperwork involved in the transaction. The "government" would have a hard time getting me to register them let alone finding them. Government has about as much business knowing what firearms I own as knowing how many sheets of TP I use in a day. It is just none of their business. People up here use their guns every day for work, for play and for survival. No one is going to give them up willingly and I don't think the "Lower 48" really wants to invade Alaska. I am guessing there are very few households here that do not contain at least one firearm and someone that is fairly skilled in its use.

Curiously alaska DOES offer CCW permits
Why you ask? well you don't NEED a permit to CCW
when you are IN Alaska, but if a resident of Alaska
is traveling many states have reciprocity in their CCW laws but have worded their laws so that the person must have a permit from their home state.

Alaska and Vermont let ANYONE carry.
IT's assumed that if you can LEGALLY purchase and possess a firearm that there is no reason you shouldn't have it with you
when you feel like lugging it around.

Shady, thank you for the reminder..
Jeraldo Rivera is also rather liberal in his personal leanings.
And lets them show from time to time.

BTW, did you know that several of the news comentators on Fox were NOT educated as Journalists?

Jeraldo Rivera and Megan Kelly (and several others)are educated as Lawyers!

Hmmm... intersting point.
I'll need to ponder that a bit...

modern liberal, liberal. liberty.

not the same thing that notion would infer. a modern liberal will take away your right to own a gun. an original right with an original intent. not a privledge...a right. no real liberty in a current liberal. they love diversity in everything but opines. this right is so the people can remove forcibly turds that seek to control them and remove thier rights. we really need to hang some of these people that do stupid shit with laws...like taking 13 year olds across state lines for abortions without parental notification. anyone signed up to that needs to hang...atleast in public opinion.

in any case, protecting that right from any form of government can be called a liberal thing i must agree, but thats part of the idea. the supreme courts are friggen turds anyways, we are all shocked at this.

real liberty. yeah i can dig it. fuk the government, they have no business peeping in on my gun collection, cause its a mother--king right, not a privledge. no local state or whatever ordinance should even touch it. school, church, courtroom,....should be able to cuddle with your sig no matter what.

yeah, looks like i am a liberal with thoughts like that right....sue me.

whats so hard to understand about this?

its hard to understand due to liberal programming. i really do not like the educational system these days.

freethinking, or at least the ability to look at something for exactly what it is is getting to be all too rare.

The tyrants would use guns against those who don't have them. THAT is the reason the amendment exists.

Anyone who thinks gun laws prevent gun violence is a stupid arse.

Someday, those who think "it can't happen here" are going to be part of those who pay the ultimate sacrifice.

Reminds me of a joke about australian gun owners...

How can you identify an australian gun owner?

He's the guy with the brown front lawn.

Why is his lawn brown?

Because he doesn't want his gun collection to rust
so he doesn't water his lawn.

I know someone who has several burried firearms.

Carefully packaged with two boxes of ammo and spare magazines
and GLUED into PVC pipe with a 1/2lb block of dry ide wrapped
in a towel (each tube has a 20psi pressure relief valve), then burried

Lest someone find it with a metal detector he also burried
scrap axle shafts and other metal items to make it real difficult
for someone to find them with a metal detector.

He even burried some Real (but utterly unservicable) firearms
as "Decoys" if someone were to actually search with ground
penetrating radar.
