Sas dana 60

would a dana 44 work ok for 44" on street and 38" in mud. Cause i have found a 75 bronco dana 44 with open knuckle. I figure do the disk brake conversion, replace axles with chrome moly and 760x u joints, then run a ox locker or air locker?

I think most people will tell you that it's a bad idea. I am not going to argue either way. There is a guy here who has a HP D44 in his buggy and he runs 40" tires in the rocks...I guess it works pretty well for him. I think he's got an ARB in it.

all that money into a D44, will make you wish you spent it on a D60 to begin with.

I would be afraid of a 44" on a 44 A buddy of mine runs that set upand a ball joint only lasts about a week.:icon_rofl:
