SAS 2wd parts round up

So I NEED a 2.3 4wd tranny or make one from parts from ANY M5OD? Is their any links on how to convert/make a M5OD 4wd out of a 2wd?

Yup. 2.3L 4wd transmissions are out there (pretty much only 2000 and older though), but they are R-A-R-E. Do not expect to hop on the internet and find one, you'll generally have to buy the whole truck if you do wander across one. And in that case... why convert?

Haven't gotten to mine yet, gotta wait for a broken finger to heal, and I have every intent of doing a writeup. But supposedly they're fairly easy to take apart, at least as far apart to swap the output shafft.

Crap, Boggin's comment made me think of something.

This is all for the M5OD-R1, which is in Rangers/Explorers ONLY.

There is a M5OD-R2 that is found in fullsize trucks (F-series, etc). This M5OD is NOT compatible with the one in Rangers or vice-versa. Similar name, entirely different transmission. Even if the full size has the Ranger badge.

I have a 79 F-150 and a 78 Bronco. My Bronco made out with a 2001 ranger and made cross breed.

Yes. I have a build thread on fsb and trs. It is a half and half truck so I think it fits in both places. So I dont need the 94 4 banger ranger to be very capible wheelin rig. I just want somthing im not going to get stuck in the snow in. Plus I kinda want to do a SAS so I can say ive done one. So back to the parts round up I go...
