You could have swapped the fitting out if your old pump and used the stock hose in this case.lol

It took a different fitting, I started a thread asking bout it. The pump ordered was from the list in the tech library off of rockauto. Also it said it was a replacement for a saginaw per rockauto's description. Give me a min and I can look up part numbers

when you search for the pumps from the tech library, the autoparts sites return the change up part. the saginaws were the HD replacement but have been discontinued. the one you bought looks like a regular ps pump not a saginaw.

in the description on rockauto that pump is the replacement for the saginaw, but i think only in fitting and application, not quality or quietness.

have you run it? does it still produce the typical ranger ps whine?

look up the ps pump for a gm 350 engine. those are the style you want

This is what I have been saying all along.

It does still whine, it looks nothing like the gm saginaw. However it does push more fluid, although that could be cause its new.

I went to NAPA a few weeks ago too, and it seems that they may no longer sell the ford saginaw. I'm tempted to find the dimensions for the adapter plate and have a shop make it.
