I'm sure my rear springs are kinda saggy as they are 27yrs old, but I have a feeling that my rear shocks are crappy and also allowing the rear the sag. Is it feasable or is it just my springs? I am planning on upgrading to explorer rear springs (when I get a chance to go to the junkyard), but i'm wondering if I should look at shocks as well.
Thanks in Advance
Wes

Shocks are pretty cheap... you will want something slightly longer, especially if you want to add lift. If you can't afford new, I would check what you have now for wear, and run them until you can afford better if not shot

shocks wont affect ride height....unless they are air shocks or you put booster coils on them.

how saggy are we talking? mine sag so bad the springs arch backward. i've been thinking of getting them resprung, LMC truck has new rear springs for a good price too

1.5" to 2" difference between lr and rr

That side to side difference is cause by all the weight on the driver's side. And shocks do not affect ride height no matter what anybody tells you. If the ride height is down, get new springs. The shocks will help you have a less bouncy ride though, so if the truck bounces around like crazy after you hit a bounce, then you need shocks.

air shocks.....get adjustable air shocks...You get to choose how firm of a ride that you want....you get to choose how much lift you want...If you carry a load, you can adjust the air pressure in the rear shocks to prevent spring sag & keep the load "leveled"...also with no-load you can adjust the sag out of the springs....

I even put a pair on the front of the truck (NOT the $$$$$$$ kit) just 2 adjustable air shocks with gauges under the dash for each shock with instant push-button fill or deflate/I use a $30 12v compact air pump to inflate the shocks (or tires) when needed/no need to stop and get out of vehicle to adjust shocks...

Decide if you want a 4 x 4 firm ride.....or a Lincoln smooth ride.....

i had the same problem with my 89 ranger but they didnt sag till i lifted it needless to say the shocks wont help u need new leaf springs and it will level it right up
