I work with a guy who was killed in a house fire Saturday morning. The fire took his and his wifes life. Although this is a sad story the real sad part is that thier Daughter was at the factory today wanting thier life insurance money.

We had to explain to her that the death certs, will have to be filed and it could actually take her a month to get her money. You talk about pissed, she could not understand why the company would not just write her out a check.

Talk about crazy people.

wow was she even upset over the death of her parents? that life insurance money would be like that last thing on my mind...

Just goes to show how heartless people can be......:annoyed: Wouldn't surprise me if she was the reason for the fire if she wanted the money that fast...

That's what I was thinking too...but there could be other reasons...or maybe she's just out of it...emotions can run high and wild when you lose someone close...especially under those circumstances...

how old is the daughter?

i mean, if she's young, i could sorta see her wanting something i mean its like shit, both my parents are dead, now what? that is terrible though

Did she need the money to bury them?

Fire is one way I definitely would not want to go.

i would need alot more data to comment on that

how old is the daughter?

She is in her mid 30's

All she said was "I need the money".
I was glad to hear they did'nt get burnt up. They were still in thier bed and the fire had'nt made it to the bedroom yet.

Could be why she needed it and fire would definitely not be my way to go, either.

I know if my parents died, I'd try to get the money as fast as possible for the funeral and to take care of my sister. She's only 13.

Yeah, funeral costs are expensive; and she'd need the money fast to pay for 2 parents caskets, tombs, or if they want to be cremated. But that would be f-cked up if she just wanted the money for selfish reasons. One of my friend's cousins had a parent die (the other parent left when they were young) and he wanted the money fast so he can buy things for himself. Talk about an a$$hole.

She may have bills to pay. Her parents may not have life insurance......On the other hand, she could be a gold digger.

I hope her plans aren't to just pocket the money and bury them in the back yard. If she does indeed need the money to bury them then I can see getting frustrated over something like that because it can be pretty expensive.

His daughters have been mooching off him their whole adult lives. They found out he had 4900.00 dollars on him when he died, again they were pissed. They wanted to know who had his wallet.

When it's all settled they'll get a good amount of money, but it's kinda sad.

The fire dept. said the fire started from creosote in the chimney. He would take scrap 2x4s home to burn in his fireplace. Alot of people told him thats not a good idea. I guess it's too late now.
