got in my truck to go to work early this morning. started up fine backed off my driveway and made it half a block. turned my defrost on and thick smoke came pouring out. Truck caught fire. total loss

yeah but its like 6 weeks before they settle the claim and everything. have to look into potential fraud. as if i'd set my own truck on fire

That really sucks. A friend of mine had the same thing happen last year. It's not just the loss of the truck, it's all the crap that was in the truck that you've lost.

people do set their vehicles on fire in order to collect insurance money. sometimes they are so far into debt, they think it's an easy way to obtain $$$ the Insurance company investigating fraud isn't anything new and don't take it personally.
